DO YOU BELIEVE IN MIRACASSELS?
Could the recent passing of Bruin Marcus Cassell actually improve the passing of Pat Cowan, enabling UCLA to beat sc?
Inspiration comes from all places, but when you lose a friend, some powerful emotions can be unleashed.

At the 2006 BeatSC Bonfire/Rally/Parade last night, it was evident that the memory of Marcus Cassell was still playing on the minds of the Bruins. And maybe that's the advantage that they need to overcome a team that, on paper, should be able to control the game. But remember -- It could be argued that the Bruins have not been blown out this year. It would be uncharacteristic for this Defense to get manhandled. However, the Jarrett/Smith bookends will not be easy to stop, even with all the emotion in the World. And don't forget their Tight End position, which has come up with some big catches lately.

Back to passion: The only fire at the Bonfire was the fire in the players' (and cheerleaders') hearts, because their was no actual bonfire this year. Could the local Fire Marshall be a trojan? Was he appointed by the trojan D.A.?

Due to weather conditions and recent fire activity, the BeatSC Bonfire was deemed too dangerous to light. Since there was NO wind last night, the decision was probably made the night before, while it was still windy. Couldn't they change their ruling on Thursday? Not if there's trojan influence in the mix. The real reason for not allowing the fire is probably that there were no firemen available to stand there and watch it for safety purposes. If they're all out fighting actual fires, then there are none left to supervise a for-fun fire.

Don't they have some old retired dudes that can supervise a seriously-controlled burn? How about 30 Frat guys with fire extinguishers? Nah -- UCLA's campus is too precious to risk, so if there were no fire engine companies available to be on hand due to currently-raging fires, then the correct decision was made, trojan or not.

And like we said, the players and Spirit Squad supplied enough fire to light the Rally on Fire.

Below are 20 photos that prove it...
