BRUINS BLOW WOLVERINES TO SMITHEREENS
UCLA whips Michigan by 37 in a Wooden Era-like performance; Hopefully the embarrassed school's Football team will take it out on troy
Let's hope Michigan's NEXT trip out West has a happier ending for the Wolverine Faithful...

Ben Howland's UCLA Bruins put on a Show for the Nation yesterday, and Michigan was the victim. The Bruins had been accused of fattening up on weak competition, so they pounced on the 11-1 Wolverines, and made a huge statement.

The #1 Bruins played like their Ranking throughout, never trailing, and never really experiencing a lull in the 92-55 laugher. The Bruins were the quicker, tougher, more disciplined squad the whole day.

Darren Collison continues to mature into the leader that Jordan Farmar was, but with quicker movements. Collison was the Player of the Game, with 15 points, 8 Assists, and 2 Steals. Speaking of Steals, the Bruins had a dozen, with Luc Richard Mbah a Moute getting SEVEN, a career-high. The Bruins forced twenty-three turnovers with the Country's Best Defense.

Mr Opportunistic Josh Shipp led all scorers with 18, while Arron Afflalo got 17, including two early threes that set the tone. Lorenzo Mata showed a nice Offensive move that could foreshadow more scoring from him, and Nikola Dragovic played in his first game as a Bruin, and he hit a three (speaking of things to come).

The current Bruin Basketballers weren't the only ones enjoying good Saturdays. While Baron Davis struggled after his 38-point performance, his Warrior teammate Matt Barnes helped out with 20 points. But it wasn't enough, because their opponent, the Miami Heat, was led by JASON KAPONO'S career-high 27 points in the 105-92 victory. Kapono had 19 in the first half, and for the game, he got 5 Rebounds, 2 Assists, and 2 Steals.

And it wasn't just Basketball where Bruins dominated yesterday -- Kansas City Chief Cornerback Jarrad Page once again deflated the Raider Nation with huge plays.

This time, Page cemented KC's 20-9 victory with TWO Interceptions, both in the END ZONE. Page also had three tackles, including a sack. Now that Page has been instrumental in both ends of the Chiefs' season sweep of the Raiders, watch for Al Davis to try to engineer a trade that would put Page in Silver & Black.

Below are a bunch of photos from the Michigan game, with plenty of Chelsey and the Cheerleaders, who returned in force after sending only 4 participants to the Sam Houston St. game.
