There is a new clown in McDonaldland, and his name is O.J. Mayo. The usc super-recruit (or drug-abusing headcase, depending upon whom you ask) made a fool of himself in his biggest game to date.
O.J.2 missed 13 of his 17 shots, in a game that is notorious for having no Defense. But just like a trojan, he still felt the need to take the last shot. Forget that there were other guys out there who WEREN'T ice cold all night -- O.J. still had to be the one to take a stab at it. And this time, he missed.
His East squad lost 114-112, and one of the major reasons, besides, O.J.'s choke, was UCLA-bound Kevin Love. Love had 13 points and 6 Rebounds, and started numerous fast breaks with his soon-to-be-legendary outlet passes. This all bodes well for UCLA, as Kevin will soon be facing O.J. with the confidence that he beat him once, so he will beat him again... especially since Mayo seems to choke under pressure.
Speaking of choking under pressure, ex-Arizona Wildcat Steve Kerr was on TNT last night with Reggie Miller, and he proved that he is, after all these years, still an ass. Reggie was talking about UCLA, and Kerr whined and refused to say anything nice about the Bruins. Just because Kerr's Dad got kidnapped or killed or something doesn't mean that he gets carte blanche to be such a prick. He was the opposite of gracious, and sounded like a sour-grape-eating baby as Reggie and the other announcer just laughed at how pathetic he was. If he keeps it up, we may just have to make him an honorary trojan. In the game they were calling, Baron Davis and Matt Barnes led the Warriors to a huge upset over Phoenix. Golden State came out so hot, that they had a 20-point lead in the first quarter, which they finsihed with 47 points, and they had 77 at Halftime. With Davis at the helm, the Warriors have a decent chance of replacing the Clippers as the last Seed in the West, but they'll have to make up a couple of games in these upcoming last 10 games of the season.
It's a lot of work, just to get swept by Dallas in the first round of the Playoffs, but Golden State hasn't been to the Playoffs in 13 years, the longest drought in the NBA. So, If Baron can get them into the Postseason, it would be quite an achievement.
