DOHN IT MAKE YOUR BLUE EYES RED?
D'oh! Daily News Reporter Brian Dohn may be "Inside UCLA," but there's nothing Bruin inside him, based on his wanting to "get past" 13-9. Do we conDOHN this trojan attitude? DOHN get us started...
Just when we finally said good riddance to Lonnie White... Now we've got another trojan fan covering UCLA for a local Paper/web site?

Brian Dohn, a Rutgers grad, has been covering UCLA for 4 years now, but he still doesn't get it. It might not be his fault -- Maybe Rutgers doesn't have a major intracity rivalry, and that's why Dohn is so clueless. Either way, we have a bone to pick with Dohn, who just showed his Rivalry ignorance in a majorly offensive way.

Wanting to "get past" one of the greatest upsets in College Football History is just plain absurd. Even if the Victory Bell weren't owned for 364 days of the year, wanting to get past a triumph of such unprecedented significance doesn't make sense.

It is obvious that Dohn has not spent the last 30 years having to deal with arrogant trojan a-holes, and has not been tortured during the last 7 years. Doesn't he realize that another trojan victory would have equaled the greatest streak in the History of the Rivalry, but now the Bruins' 8 straight still stand alone? Doesn't he realize the unmitigated satisfaction of knocking sc out of the Title Game that they and the rest of the World were so sure that they were going to participate in? Remember that some National Website/Magazines had already broken down the Ohio State - USC match-up that was anticipated?

If Dohn had to endure a group of cardinal & gold co-workers taunting him for the past 7 years, do you think he would want to get over 13-9 so quickly?

This Rivalry is ANNUAL, which means that you get to parade the Victory Bell around until the next Big Game, and it does not indicate a "warped sense of accomplishment" as the apparent "Brain Dohnor" suggests.

You don't think the trojans were quoting the Big Game final score all the way up until kickoff the following year, for all these years? Of course they were. And now it's the Bruins' turn. And since it's been so long, and since the trOJans have been such obnoxious and toxic winners, breaking the law on and off the field all along, 13-9 is that much sweeter, and that much more WORTHY of holding onto.

Besides, the trojans NEED to be constantly reminded of that final score, or they are likely to claim the 2006-7 National Championship.

Dohn really needs to peruse THIS website, to understand what it truly means to be a Bruin. He needs to understand that REAL Bruins want to BeatSC more than all the other opponents combined. Our survey at the end of last year showed that Bruin fans were much happier after beating sc in a lackluster season, than they were after a 10-2 year that included a bad loss to sc. He needs to understand that the Bruins have been persecuted by the evil empire, and tormented by their above-the-law modus operandi for way too long. 13-9 is the ONLY thing that shuts them up. And it definitely DOES put a cork in them.

If none of the above gets through to Dohn, then he needs to know about all the death threats we get, not to mention the actual attempt. If he had a clue just how evil and corrupt sc was, maybe he would begin to understand the crucialness of keeping 13-9 alive and at the top of mind for as long as possible. It may not be like making sure that the Holocaust is not forgotten, but it could be a distant second.

And like the Sopranos' Swan Song crooned: "DOHN Stop Believing," and maybe Dohn will figure this all out, and issue an apology to all the UCLA fans who are supposed to be his target audience.

In all this time that we've been checking the Daily News for Bruin updates, we've never before had a major issue with Dohn. Therefore, we'll chalk this faux pas up to his lacking of the proper rivalry background (i.e. being subject to constant trojan abuse), and NOT to his being full of sh!t. THAT'S why in the headline, his Blue eyes don't turn BROWN.
