If Bush got a house, why shouldn't Mayo get a Lamborghini?
So now we know why O.J. Mayo is coming to usc. It's the quickest way to start driving in style. He told Channel 7 this week that when he visited Southern California, he was motivated to return, when he saw a Lamborghini driving around, and decided that he wanted one too, asap.
Doesn't he know that Bush only got a Mercedes? Of course it was often seen being parked by a guy with huge diamond earrings (not a valet), in the luxurious and exclusive Medici Apartments, so that's still not too shabby of a package.
The last time an Exoticar was in the news, a guy was wrecking a Ferrari Enzo on PCH. With OJ2's reputed penchant for the Chronic, he better keep his ride off Route 1.
And there's a good reason why Mayo's not worried about the RULES against giving race cars to recruits: He knows that Pom Pom Pete University doesn't have to abide by the Rules. While Colorado goes on 2-year Probation for undercharging players for meals, sc remains untouched for violations ten times worse. Pete, and now Tim Floyd, will always find a loophole. If they can't, then they'll just break the rule, and fix it some other way, sometimes well after the fact.
Before O.J.'s interview, Pete Carroll was quoted on the subject of his protege getting busted. Oakland Coach Lane Kiffen got penalized for breaking NFL Rules in terms of how much work the players were doing in practice. Apparently, he was working them like dogs, and making them play full-contact, WITHOUT pads. The violations were so blatant, that the Players Association officially stepped in, cancelled practice for a week, and reprimanded the Carroll disciple.
And what was Carroll's response? That if it were him, he wouldn't have gotten caught. He says that he would have made some secret deal with the players to not turn him in, or something like that, definitely still in violation of the rules. So Carroll is saying that he would, of course, break the rules, but that he wouldn't be stupid enough to get nailed, like Kiffin was. And Pom Pom is PROUD of his trojan, above-the-law attitude, to the point of bragging about his Rule-flaunting to the Press. It's this attitude, along with the promise of a $200,000 Sports Car, that's got Mayo already getting acclimated to Figueroa Tech -- by finding all the Head Shops and "Pimp My Lamborghini" garages in South Central.
And what is it with Carroll taking a page out of O.J.'s trojan book, with their "If I Did It" scenarios? Coincidentally, the original O.J. is back in the news today, as an excerpt of his hypothetical confession was leaked yesterday. Supposedly, Simpson considered blowing his own brains out DURING the Bronco Chase.
All we can say is "IF ONLY!!!" Now THERE'S a LEAK that would have been worth something. Of course, if the guy had any brains at all, he never would have committed a double murder, tried to flee on National TV, or gone to usc.
But some people are just born to be trOJans. OJ1, OJ2, Pete Carroll, and...
Carson Palmer proudly shared the story recently that he injured a kid while golfing. The Bengal QB hit a stray drive that struck a child, who happened to be wearing a Steelers jersey. Since rival Pitt is the team against whom Palmer got badly injured, Palmer made a classless comment, allegedly while the victim was still in pain, saying something like he was glad that it was a Steelers fan that got hit.
If that's accurate, what a true SCumbag. It sounds logical that someone who always thinks of themselves first wouldn't hesitate before adding insult to injury, literally, even to an innocent child. Maybe if the kid were wearing a UCLA jersey, Palmer would have finished the job, by beating him to death with a 9-iron.

Note to Arte Moreno: Don't even think about Milton Bradley. Yes, he can hit, but so could Jose Guillen, and Scioscia's team doesn't need that kind of unstable element threatening the chemistry that has led to the best start in Franchise History. Look what Karl Malone did to the Lakers, and take a lesson from trojan Buss' grave mistake.
