If only Bruin Internet Message Boards could be as free from trojans as will be the 2007 MLB All-Star Game.
The votes are in for the Starters, and the Reserves and Pitching Staffs have been named, and unless there is an injury replacement, there will be no ex-trojans on either roster. No Randy Johnson, no Barry Zito, no Morgan Ensberg, no Jeff Cirillo, no Jaque Jones, and no Boones.
This shut-out comes on the heels of sc getting SWEPT by UCLA in Baseball this year. So, it's not just Football and Basketball in which the Bruins are the City's Reigning Champs and in which their alumni are outperforming expectations (i.e. Maurice Jones-Drew, Matt Barnes) in the Pro's -- The Bruins own the trojans right now in Baseball too.
Thanks to our favorite Math trick, there are more than ten times more Bruin All-Stars than trojan All-Stars. There's more than a million times more, or course, thanks to Philly Chase Utley. The Bruin Star was voted in by fans, and rightly so, as the NL's Starting 2nd Baseman.
Utley is pictured here with another young All-Star, Dodger Catcher Russell Martin. 1st-timer Martin joins Pitchers Brad Penny and another 1st-timer Takashi Saito as the three Dodgers heading North. Also making the trip from the Southland are Angels Vladimir Guerrero, John Lackey, and Francisco Rodriguez. Angel Pitcher Kelvim Escobar is up for the last spot, to be voted on by fans, but Shortstop Orlando Cabrera, 4th in the League in Hitting, didn't make it. Even East Coast-biased ESPN is calling Cabrera's omission the biggest snub of the year. Maybe O.C. can get in on an injury replacement of his own -- Hopefully he won't be one of those guys who turns down a late offer.

Below are six photos from the Dodger-Padre game on Sunday. First is Juan Pierre diving head first safely into Home; Then, ESPN's #2 Play of the Day when Mike Cameron robbed Luis Gonzalez of a Home Run; Third is the look of frustration that Chad Billingsley painted on the Padre batters' faces; 4th is a Dodger Warning Track catch, in front of a scoreboard touting the Game's MVP; 5th is Pierre missing a bunt; And 6th is Jonathan Broxton hustling to cover First to beat a flailing Friar.
Billingsley was a STUD, setting down 16 straight Pads at one point, as the Dodgers avoided the Series Sweep with an EASY 5-0 victory.
