WHO SAYS LAKERS AND CLIPPERS HAVEN'T UPGRADED?
With or without Kobe and Brand, there will still be a Superstar performing at every game at Staples this season, as Laker Girls and Clipper Girls both add former Bruin Cheerleaders
Staples Center is considered a fairly state-of-the-art arena, and ticket prices for the NBA games there are as steep as the stairs in its nosebleed sections. So you would expect the Lakers and Clippers to give fans a top-tier product.

Well, with the Lakers failing to attain Kevin Garnett or to placate Kobe Bryant, and with Clipper Star Elton Brand suffering a severe injury, it doesn't look like either team is going to contend for a Title this season. However, the fans will still be treated to some First Class entertainment.

The new Laker and Clipper Girls have been announced, and former Bruin Cheerleaders Whitney and Nicole will once again be gracing our town with their beauty and talent. Whitney, with hair of (Laker) Gold, will be reunited with Jordan Farmar, as members of the Laker organization, while Nicole will bring her sterling reputation to Donald Sterling's Clippers.

Whitney completes a Bruin Trifecta for trojan Dr. Jerry Buss' Lakers: Now they have a Bruin Laker Girl (Whitney), a Bruin Player (Farmar), and a Bruin Coach (Kareem). If only they had a Bruin Owner, maybe they could put together a contender. Hey Mr. Samueli, are you listening? Can you save the Lakers like you saved the Ducks?

Well, SOMEONE needs to step in and straighten out that roster. All they've done this off-season is show that they have NO confidence in Starting Point Guard Jordan Farmar. Although they let former Starting Point Guard Smush Parker go,they drafted a young hotshot Point Guard from Georgia Tech, Javaris Crittenton. Then they picked up the likable Derek Fisher, who is also a Point Guard, and then they signed Coby Karl, a Point Guard from Boise State. Sasha Vujacic, a Euro Point Guard, is also still on the roster. GM Mitch Kupchak is probably planning to make another move, because on OUR count, he's got FIVE Point Guards.

It's probably the trojan Buss who's got no faith in Farmar. But just like Mo Jones-Drew, Farmar will overcome the lack of trust, and emerge from all this competition as the Quarterback of this team. Like we said, they're not Title Contenders this year, but with Kobe, Farmar, Walton, Bynum, Brown, and a healthy Odom, they should certainly take Whitney into the Playoffs.

The Clippers, on the other hand...

Their only reliable Star Player is Elton Brand, and he is now out with a ruptured achilles tendon. He's expected to miss perhaps half the season. He'd be back in the swing of things in time for the Playoffs, but a Kaman-Magette-Cassell nucleus isn't going to have them in Playoff position. In other words, Nicole will be on vacation before Whitney will.

All we know, is now that Whitney and Nicole are in da house, regardless of how bad the Lakes and Clips are, Staples fans will still get their money's worth, especially if they stay in their seats during time outs.
