We were going to "take FIVE" today, but we have another FIVE hundred or so photos that we are dying to share.
You think we're kidding? Well, we ARE prone to exaggeration, but we took over 800 shots on Saturday, and about 500 of them are worthy, or "fit for public consumption." Only 300 were blurry, blocked, or just didn't do justice to their subjects, and that's actually a great ratio for us.
Just in the off-chance that you care, there are FIVE main reason for this success:
1) The 12:30pm game time provided super-bright "lighting" (and "sunstroke," but it was worth it);
2) The pre-game party allowed the Squad to perform uninterrupted by that stupid FOOTBALL stuff (just kidding, Lea -- the Football shots came out pretty good too, and I hope you are using them again);
3) Our newly-established alliance (okay, "understanding") with the Spirit Squad allowed us to take photographs from front and center without anyone feeling "creepy" (we think);
4) The sparse crowd inside the smaller, new Stadium allowed for great vantage points for the game-action on the field and for the Sidelines with the Cheering Section;
and...
5) Oh yeah, one more tiny detail: The girls are f-in' breathtakingly photogenic. It has nothing to do with the photography -- Our CAT could be operating the camera controls and we'd still have hundreds of good shots. We just wish we knew some hipper terms to use to respectfully yet passionately describe the Natural Wonders in this pictorial.
Put those FIVE factors together, and guess what -- everyone wins. It also doesn't hurt that Bruins won the game -- A WIN tends to generate more Kodak moments on and off the field -- but with THIS Spirit Squad, the photos of THEM will be the silver lining if the unthinkable happens and the team doesn't go undefeated.
